Better Hour Community Guidelines

Welcome to Better Hour—the neighbor‑powered way to get everyday things done. These Guidelines keep Seekers and Helpers safe, respected, and successful. They work alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1) Respect Comes First

Treat every person and home with courtesy. No harassment, hate, discrimination, or abuse. Zero tolerance for threats or intimidation. Honor privacy: do not open closed doors, drawers, or devices unless invited. Photos require consent.

2) Light‑Work Scope (What We Do / Don’t Do)

Do: light organizing, simple home projects, basic errands. Don’t: heavy tools, tall ladders, power washing, deep cleaning marathons, skilled trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC), appliance repair, roofing, pest control, hazardous cleanup, heavy furniture moves, TV/shelf mounting. If a Task grows beyond this scope, contact Better Hour support — or decline.

3) Keep It On Better Hour (No Off‑App Payment)

All communication, booking, and payment for connections made on Better Hour must stay on the Platform. Do not request or accept payment outside the app. This protects receipts, reviews, support, and safety. Violations may lead to account loss and/or a Conversion Fee per the Terms.

4) Communication & Boundaries

Be clear: use in‑app chat to confirm scope, supplies, timing, parking, pets, and access. Right to say no: anyone can decline tasks beyond scope or comfort. Punctuality: message if you’re running late (>5 minutes). Before/after photos: allowed only with consent; never share publicly without permission. Kids & pets: note sensitivities, allergies, and safety concerns ahead of time.

5) Reliability & Cancellations

Show up: confirm the day before; arrive on time. Cancellations: cancel early in‑app. Late cancels and no‑shows may incur fees or affect your rating. Accuracy: keep your availability and neighborhoods up to date.

6) Fair Pay & Materials

Prices and estimated time should be clear before work starts. Seekers provide consumables (filters, bulbs, cleaners, labels). Helpers bring basic hand tools (screwdrivers, level, hammer) and sensible supplies (microfiber, gloves). No payments in cash, gift cards, or outside apps.

7) Safety Practices

Meet at the door; verify names. Keep valuables secure and work areas safe and ventilated. No drugs, intoxication, or unsafe conditions. If something feels off, stop and message support. In emergencies, call 911 first.

8) Reviews & Photos

Be honest, specific, and respectful. No name‑calling or private info. You can upload before/after photos with consent; do not include people (especially minors) without permission.

9) Prohibited Content & Conduct

Harassment, discrimination, or hate based on protected traits. Illegal items or activities; weapons. Fraud, misrepresentation, or posting tasks you do not intend to book. Sharing private contact/payment info to arrange off‑Platform work.

10) Consequences

We may issue warnings, remove content/badges, restrict features, suspend, or terminate accounts for violations. Severity and frequency matter. Serious or repeat violations may result in immediate removal.

11) Reporting & Support

If something violates these Guidelines or feels unsafe: Use the in‑app report tools or email support@betterhour.com. For urgent safety issues, call 911 first, then contact us.

12) Updates

We may update these Guidelines as the Platform grows. We’ll post the revised version with a new “last updated” date.
